A long goodbye to Drupal

I've been a happy Drupal user for two decades now and I continue to love it, but the time to let go is approaching.

Borking the geborken

Things have been a glorious blend of quiet and shambolic on my website these past couple of months.

Quiet because Twitter has become my primary means of short on-line communication; quiet because I have not had the energy to compose longer on-line communications with any lucidity; and quiet because my upgrade from Drupal 6 to Drupal 7 has not gone as well as I would have liked.

A change of blog

Wordpress has been (and continues to be) very good to me. However, after two and a bit years, I am deprecating the now.rickeyre.com brand and freezing its blog. There's a lot of great reading there, but from October 1 my blog address will be www.rickeyre.com/blog.

I'm now using Drupal, which offers a more comprehensive range of features than Wordpress, which is a great program if you only want to blog. Drupal is also the CMS I use for the two church websites that I have worked on recently.

Bear with me as I work out the new navigation and theme.
